Pastry genius and Milk Bar founder Christina Tosi is coming back to Austin again. This time, she’s participating in Hot Luck Festival, the food and music festival put together by Austin pitmaster Aaron Franklin et al., taking place over Memorial Day weekend in May.
Tosi will be found at Hot Luck’s brunch event, the Coupe de Grille, where she will serve Milk Bar’s famous cereal milk soft serve from an ice cream truck, alongside an entire toppings bar. That specific affair takes place on Sunday, May 26.
Other participating chefs in the brunch event include Chicago’s Jason Vincent and Ben Lustbader of Giant, Katie Button of Asheville shop Button & Co. bagels, Mason Hereford of New Orleans sandwich shop Turkey and the Wolf, and others.
Individual tickets to the Coupe de Grille are $125. The event is also included in the all-encompassing Whole Enchilada pass, which is $550.
Tosi was all over Austin last month during South by Southwest: she discussed how she grew Milk Bar at a panel and her Milk Bar cookies were everywhere. Again, does this mean Austin will finally get a Milk Bar of its very own?
