Austin Joint Gives Out Free Pizza to Federal Government Employees

Plus a new coffee drive-thru opens, and more news

Free Pizza
South Congress pizzeria Home Slice Pizza is giving away free pizza this week to federal employees after the recent government shutdown. They will be able to receive a pizza slice and fountain drink with identification proof at all locations from Friday, February 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coffee Drive-Thru Open
Bakery and beer garden Easy Tiger opened up its coffee drive-thru within its Linc location. On deck are various coffees, lattes (including one with white chocolate and cardamom), teas, pastries, cookies, pretzels, sandwiches, and sides. Its hours are from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekdays, and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekends. It’s giving away a free Cuvee Coffee drink or tea with any food purchase through Wednesday, February 13.

New Museum Cafe
Texas Highways took a look at the Bullock Museum of Texas History’s new cafe, which is now run by Rosemary Catering’s chef Baron Cazares. Dishes at the Story of Texas Cafe include general salads, paninis, and build-your-own baked potatoes. Originally, the cafe was slated to be taken over by Raj Singh, who ran Live Oak Market and now-closed restaurant and market Delicious, back in 2017.
