P. Terry’s, Austin’s popular fast-food burger drive-thru, hired its first ever chief executive officer who isn’t co-owner Patrick Terry: Todd Coerver. As part of his new role, Coerver will help the burger chain expand with four more locations somewhere in the Central Texas area, including Georgetown, Pflugerville, and, even further away, in Houston, all within the next two years.
Coerver worked recently as the CEO of Denver-based Larkburger. Before that, he was the chief brand officer and chief operating officer of Taco Cabana, as well as Whataburger, where he ended as the vice president of marketing and innovation.
Coerver begins at P. Terry’s on Friday, March 1. With his hiring, Terry is stepping down as CEO.
Terry and co-owner and wife Kathy first opened P. Terry’s in 2005, and quickly grew with 14 other locations across Austin. The Terrys expanded with a taco version of P. Terry’s — Taco Ranch — in 2018 now with two locations. They’re opening the first non-Austin location of P. Terry’s in San Marcos this May.
