Gluten-free bakery and restaurant Wild Wood Bakehouse is now closed on 3016 Guadalupe Street. Its last day was Sunday, February 24.

While no reason was given for the shutter in Wild Wood’s Facebook announcement, it thanks its customers for being “such great supporters of our passion to serve gluten-free baked goods and foods, providing a safe space for celiac diners to order freely and enjoy the dining experience.”

Wild Wood’s other, newer restaurant Wilder Wood Resturant and Bar, which is also gluten-free, is still open on 1300 East 7th Street.

Owner Joan Griffith opened Wild Wood in 2012, in the former space of controversial Mediterranean restaurant El Greco (which was revamped on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares show in 2011). It was known for its array of gluten-free baked goods and general dishes like pasta, tacos, and fried chicken.

Wild Wood expanded with its second restaurant, Wilder Wood, in 2017, which took over the former Silo on 7th space, with the same offerings, as well as a larger emphasis on burgers and Mexican food.
