The final restaurant in sleek hotel Line Austin, a rooftop bar and lounge called P6, opens this Friday, March 1. It’s located at 111 East Cesar Chavez Street in the downtown area.
The bar’s cocktails come courtesy of industry veteran Brian Floyd, formerly of Half Step and Weather Up, and include a toasted almond mai tai and classic gin martini. There’s also a menu of small plates from the hotel’s executive chef Justin Ermini, with dishes like tuna crudo and comté gougères (warm cheese puffs), and rotating desserts from the hotel’s head baker Ashley Whitmore.
Formerly the top deck of the hotel’s parking garage, famed local architecture firm Michael Hsu worked with Los Angeles-based Sean Knibb to design the space as a reimagined greenhouse, drawing influences from Monet’s garden at Giverny. There are lots of indoor/outdoor spaces, a wraparound terrace, and living room with a fireplace. The hotel plans to host wellness events like sunset viewings and yoga from the rooftop, as well as make the space available for private events.
At the hotel, P6 joins burger bar Dean’s One Trick Pony, which opened in October, coffee shop Alfred, and Top Chef winner Kristen Kish’s Arlo Grey, which both opened in June.
For now, P6 is open Thursday through Sunday only. Its hours during opening are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
