Eater Austin 38 restaurant Emmer & Rye’s food hall stall Henbit will be offering its famous cookies at Whole Foods Market. The monster cookie will be available at the supermarket location on 525 North Lamar Boulevard in downtown Austin only starting today, Thursday, February 14.
The massive cookie, concocted by Emmer & Rye and Henbit pastry chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph, is made with chocolate chips, pecans, white Sonoran wheat, and lemon zest.
The packaged sweet will be available via Amazon Prime delivery later in the spring, too. The cookie addition is part of Whole Foods’ goal of adding local vendors and restaurants to its shelves.
The fast-casual Henbit opened in early 2018 from Tavel Bristol-Joseph and chefs Kevin Fink and Page Pressley. They opened what became one of Austin’s and Texas’ essential restaurants Emmer & Rye in November 2015. Next up for the team is live-fire downtown restaurant Hestia, pegged to open in spring 2019.
