Barbecue Brisket Sandwich
New-school barbecue truck LeRoy & Lewis and Bird Bird Biscuit are teaming up for a brisket biscuit sandwich, naturally. The limited sandwich will be available at both South Austin food truck and the Cherrywood restaurant on the weekends throughout February until sold out. Even better: the barbecue truck can add any smoked meat to the biscuit, including barbacoa. Two dollars from every sale will go towards the Austin Food and Wine Alliance.
Top Chef Brunch
Now there’s weekend brunch at downtown hotel restaurant Arlo Grey from chef Kristen Kish starting tomorrow, Saturday, February 2. Dishes include baked duck confit hash, ricotta beignets served with bacon jam, and croissant and bread pudding. It’s available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Free Cheese Week
Antonelli’s Cheese Shop is bringing back its free cheese week as part of its ninth anniversary, with tastings and classes throughout the city. Participating restaurants will offer up free cheese plates each day, like Winebelly, Lenoir, Revue, and others, starting on Monday, February 4 through Friday, February 8. Then the shop is hosting classes throughout the month, like how to make fondue, pairing chocolate and cheese, and a trip to Pure Luck Dairy.
New Downtown Happy Hour
Mexican restaurant El Naranjo is adding weekday happy hour to its lineup starting today. Discounts include half-off margaritas and selected cocktails and appetizers, plus $5 house wines and more. It’s available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
