Chinese-American Restaurant Pop-Up
East Side Chinese-American restaurant Old Thousand is going taking over sibling restaurant She’s Not Here in downtown Austin next month. On deck will be a limited version of Old Thousand’s menu featuring current and past dishes, like the kung pao cauliflower, brisket fried rice, and char siu pork. The restaurant is also going to tease future dishes set for its forthcoming second location up on Burnet Road, which is also opening in December. Scope out the full menu below. There’s also what is being called a “naughty list” holiday bar with cocktails and Christmas decorations, like the Hot Cocoa-Nut with coconut milk cocoa and two rums.

This also means that host Pacific-American restaurant She’s Not Here is technically not open at the same time. The Old Thousand pop-up will run from Monday, December 2 through New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, December 31, from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and then from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Next Austin Airport Restaurant Opening
Downtown Austin New American restaurant Parkside is now open in the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport as of last week. It’s found near Gates 1 and 2 at the Barbara Jordan Terminal (aka the main one). Hours and menu aren’t known at this point, but it’s safe to expect raw bar items (probably oysters), meats, and fries from chef/owner Shawn Cirkiel. The airport restaurant was announced two years ago.

New Official COTA Vodka
Austin distillery Goodnight Loving Vodka is now the official vodka of race track Circuit of the Americas. As part of the partnership, Goodnight will have its own cocktail lounge at the venue, the Goodnight Loving Vodka Garden, found between turn 15 and the Austin360 Amphitheater.

1:01 p.m.: This article has been updated to include Old Thousand’s menu at She’s Not Here.
