Brisket Ramen Tatsu-ya
Brisket plus ramen isn’t a new thing to the Tatsu-ya team. It’s a staple dish at the company’s East Austin Japanese-Texas izakaya Kemuri. But now Ramen Tatsu-ya will serve up the barbecue ramen for a couple of days next week. The smoked shoyu brisket ramen is made up of a slice of Kemuri brisket, pit-smoked shoyu made with pork broth, ajitama, and menma. It’ll be available from Monday, October 7 through Wednesday, October 9, starting at 11 a.m. It’ll be found at a different Austin Ramen Tatsu-ya location each day, starting with the Research Boulevard one, then South Lamar, and then East Sixth. The brisket ramen will cost $15, which includes a draft beer or green tea.
Waffles and Coffee
The East Austin location of coffee shop Houndstooth Coffee is adding weekend waffles to its lineup. On deck will be four types: classic topped with strawberries and whipped cream; Cowboy with pecans, cinnamon, and whipped cream; Decadent with bananas and Nutella; and the Savory with gruyere cheese, arugula, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic vinaigrette. It’ll be available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
