Pan-Asian Restaurant Opens
1618 Asian Fusion, the pan-Asian restaurant on 1618 East Riverside Drive, is now open within the Amli South Shore building. Owners Kevin and Lynn Tran based the restaurant on their travels throughout the sprawling continent. The menu spans Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Singaporean, and general Southeast Asian cuisines, with dishes like pad thai, pho, curries, grilled lemongrass lamb chops, salmon steamed in banana leaves, etc. Cocktails make sure of Asian and tropical ingredients, i.e. mango, lychee, coconuts. Eventually, the restaurant will feature a gift shop selling what a release describes as “unique items from across Asia.” The name and the address is considered a lucky number. The restaurant had tested out its menu with a one-day preview in September. Its hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and then from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and then from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
