Pizza from Milto’s

Milto’s Pizza, the 42-year-old North Campus pizzeria on 2909 Guadalupe Street, is closing. While there is no exact date for the pizzeria’s last day of business, it’s expected to happen sometime in the middle of November, according to the restaurant’s Instagram post. When the date is set, it will be announced on social media.

The actual building that houses Milto’s on Guadalupe has been up for sale since April. It appears that the offer is currently under contract as of early October. That seems to indicate that a new restaurant is probably going to take over the space eventually.

Owner Miltos Georgakopoulos and his family opened the restaurant in 1977. The menu focused on pizzas both deep-dish and thin-crust, as well as subs, pastas, sides of anchovies, and Greek and Italian dishes, like gyros and lasagna, or as Georgakopoulos described as “Texas Greek,” in a video published seven years ago.

This is the third latest campus-area pizzeria shutter in the past two years. There was Salvation Pizza’s West 34th location in September and Conans Pizza Central in 2018.
