Far south Austin cafe Spokesman Coffee is expanding with a second location up in Highland. It’ll be found within the now-open Crux Climbing Center at 6015 Dillard Circle, Suite B, next to the Brewtorium, opening on Thursday, October 1.
The original location of Crux, found off South Congress Avenue on Pickle Road, neighbors Cosmic Coffee & Beer Garden. So Crux co-owner Grace Nicholas wanted to be able to offer something similar with the company’s second location, according to a statement. Hence the partnership with Spokesman Coffee.
Spokesman will serve up its familiar menu of coffee (with a focus on small-batch roasted beans), beer, tea, and Kombucha. Food-wise, it’ll offer grab-and-go items like panini sandwiches, salads (couscous, chickpea, chicken, macaroni), peanut butter-filled pretzel bites, and more. The coffee shop will take up space inside of the bouldering gym, occupying 1,000 square feet.
Spokesman Coffee opened on East St. Elmo Road in April 2017 by co-owners C.J. West and Trey Ramirez.
