What had been the original location of the Austin comfort food patio mini-chain Red’s Porch closed on 3508 South Lamar Boulevard suddenly last week on Friday, October 11, as confirmed by a staff for sibling spot North by Northwest.
Red’s Porch’s South Austin doors had been locked because it “defaulted under the Lease [...] by failing to pay rent due,” according to a notice posted on the South Lamar restaurant’s door by property management company McLaren-Hill Commercial, as shared on Reddit.
This had been Austin’s last remaining location of Red’s Porch. Eater Austin has reached out for more information. This article will be updated accordingly.
Owner Davis Tucker opened Red’s on South Lamar in 2009. He expanded the restaurant into North Austin in 2017 and Round Rock in 2018, both of which closed this summer. He opened brewery/restaurant North by Northwest Brewing Co. in North Austin in 1999, and expanded that onto West Slaughter Lane in South Austin in 2014. That expansion closed earlier this February.
