The team behind chicken-and-waffles restaurant Rolling Rooster is expanding with a new brunch-focused restaurant, The Breakfast Bar. It is open now in North Austin (near Wells Branch) at 13717 Burnet Road, as of last weekend.

Breakfast Bar describes itself as a “luxury breakfast and mimosa bar,” with a Southern-focused menu. In addition to breakfast standards like omelettes, French toast, waffles, and pancakes (the restaurant boasts eight flavors of pancakes, including a variety with tempura lobster), there’s also bourbon-glazed steak and eggs, oxtail, and fried tacos.

In terms of drinks, the restaurant serves wine and beer, which means many kinds of mimosas, including a frozen one, and an Italian soda made with trendy canned spiked seltzer White Claw.

Glenn Williams opened Rolling Rooster as a food truck in 2015. There is also a Rolling Rooster in Wells Branch, as well as a forthcoming location taking over the historic Victory Grill in East Austin.

Breakfast Bar’s full hours will be from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily, although hours may vary during these initial opening weeks. Another location of Breakfast Bar is heading to the Stone Oak neighborhood of San Antonio.
