It looks like Kyoten Sushiko, the Japanese restaurant founded by Otto Phan, never reopened after the chef left Austin for Chicago for his new restaurant. Originally, Phan was going to leave the Mueller restaurant, which served casual lunch and omakase dinner, to another chef when he left in August, but that didn’t seem to happen. The Facebook post, dated in late October 2018, noted that the Austin Kyoten would reopen sometime in 2019. Phan’s Chicago restaurant, also named Kyoten, opened in late August, leading to great reviews.

Texas Barbecue on the East Coast
Austin barbecue truck Micklethwait Craft Meats brought its sausages over to the East Coast for a limited time again. The links will be available at the New York and Washington, D.C. locations of Hill Country Barbecue.

Movie Theater Food Numbers
Alamo Drafthouse revealed its food and drink statistics for 2018 from all of its theaters across the country. This means 1,161,806 milkshakes, 633,268 fried pickles; and 3,901,179 beers; among others.

Only 20 people (with plus-ones) will be able to attend the free dinner, which will take place on Saturday, February 9.
