Kiwami had been previously hot pot restaurant Shabu.

— Beverage publication Imbibe named its 75 names and trends to look out for this year, and this includes the brothers and owners of Austin coffee shop Houndstooth, Sean and Paul Henry.

— Essential Austin restaurant Contigo is continuing its renovations and construction while remaining opening for the next two months. The patio will get bigger with over 100 seats, and be able to get enclosed with garage doors and a new fireplace.

— Downtown Mexican restaurant La Condesa has been and will remain temporarily closed from Tuesday, January 1 through Thursday, January 10 for updates to the kitchen. It will reopen on Friday, January 11.
