Pan-Asian food truck Soursop expanded with a new food truck specializing in Thai fried chicken in East Austin. Spicy Boys is opened at Zilker Brewing Co. on 1701 East 6th Street last Friday.

Soursop had often features hot gai (Asian fried chicken) and sambal wings on its menu, which proved to be popular, so chef Theodore Bricker wanted to focus on those items. New to Spicy Boys’ menu are more wing sauces, like Thai barbecue, citrus-miso, lemon-Sichuan, and the signature Spicy Boys (which is very, very hot). Elsewhere, there are hot fried chicken sandwiches, fried chicken legs, roti with curry, tater tots, som tam, and collard greens. For desserts, there is Thai tea Oreo cheesecake and sweet roti.

Spicy Boys is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to midnight Friday through Saturday, and then from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Bricker opened the new food truck with Dillon Misonznick, who had also opened Soursop in early 2017 at South Austin brewery St. Elmo Brewing Co. Misonznick, who also developed the menu, will run the Spicy trailer.
