Cult-loved bakeshop 85C Bakery, aka the “Starbucks of Taiwan,” is opening its second Austin location up in Lakeline starting on Friday, February 1 at 11301 Lakeline Boulevard. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the opening day, along with specials for customers during the first couple of weeks, like ten-cent sea salt coffees.

The bakery is known for baking up various Taiwanese, Japanese, and European sweets and baked goods, like soft brioche, egg tarts, danishes, cakes, cream puffs, rolls, and more. Then there’s the beverage menu, which features sea salt teas and coffee, boba drinks, and slushes and smoothies with flavors like taro and mango.

85C Bakery opened its first-ever Austin location in July 2018 in Highland on 6929 Airport Boulevard. Owner and founder Wu Cheng-Hsueh opened the first 85C in Taipei, Taiwan in 2003, followed by the first American location in California in 2008. There are bakeries throughout California and Texas.
