Returning Thai Restaurant
Longtime Thai restaurant Little Thailand, which shuttered in 2014, is now back courtesy of the niece and nephew of the founding owner, the late Surin Simcoe and his wife Surin. Chef Kanjanut Thomas and Thanet Thomas brought back the restaurant to its original location at 4315 Caldwell Lane in Del Valle.

Good Food Winners
The winners of this year’s Good Food Awards, held in San Francisco, were announced recently. These include products from a bunch of Texas establishments, like Still Austin Whiskey Co.’s Texas rye gin, Barrel Creek Provisions’ pickled cucumbers, and the Art of Pecan’s pecan oil, among others.

Spreading Austin Food
Vice Munchies dug into why people are opening Austin-inspired restaurants across the country, from that Texas-style food hall in New York to Los Angeles taco joint Homestate to Seattle barbecue spot Wood Shop BBQ.

Post-Half-Marathon Burger
For those who are running the 3M Half-Marathon this Sunday, January 20, Shake Shack is offering a free frozen custard to racers. The catch is that they have to buy something else from either of the two locations of the restaurant.
