A new brewery is heading to Dripping Springs this year with Ghost Note Brewing. Located on five acres at 23663 Ranch Road 12, the brewery is slated to open in 2019, within a few months.

Founder Kenny Coleman shared that the beer menu will include “fresh, creative, barrel aged, blended and sessionable” beers using local ingredients when possible. Head brewer Cory McGuinness, a native of Portland, Oregon, was most recently at award-winning Pravda Beer Theatre in the Ukraine. Rounding out the brewery team is Thelma Coleman, who is married to Kenny and is the company’s bookkeeper.

Kenny is looking into food options for the brewery but is unsure what that will look like at the moment. The team “want[s] the food to balance our creative beer styles.”

In terms of the property, Coleman said, “The space matches our affinity for leisure pursuits engaged in the outdoors. It’s comfortable, laid-back and inviting for the whole family.”

The name Ghost Note refers to the music term, which describes a note with rhythmic value but no pitch. Coleman explains that it’s a reminder to not lose sight of lessons from history, and the team appreciated having a music reference as well.
