Tex-Mex neighborhood restaurant Mi Madre’s Restaurant is opening a standalone juice bar in Cherrywood just down the street at 2610 Manor Road, in the former zero-waste grocery store In.gredients. Vida Pura Juicery is now open as of Friday, February 8.

Vida will focus on mostly vegetarian and vegan fare. There will be raw cold-pressed juices in glass bottles. The six mainstay juices include the Lucha Libre, mixed of beets, raspberries, red apples, oranges, and rose water.

Elsewhere on the menu will be superfood smoothies; acai bowls with an emphasis on Mexican fruits like guayaba, mango, and papaya; oatmeal parfaits; and grab-and-go vegan items like salads, sandwiches, and hot soups; and coffees.

The former grocery store space-turned-juice bar will include a covered patio.

Vida Pura is run by Veronica Torres, the daughter of Mi Madre’s owners and founders Aurelio and Rosa Torres. Torres wanted to open the juice bar because she grew an interest in healthier eating and drinking after her father had been diagnosed with cancer.

Mi Madre’s opened a rooftop mezcal bar, Techo, at its Cherrywood location in 2015.
