Happy Chicks, the chicken tender-obsessed restaurant, opened its second location in downtown Austin today, Friday, September 7.
The restaurant is first and foremost all about chicken tenders, available with a variety of sauces ranging from ranch-based to classics, like buttermilk, avocado-poblano, and raspberry chipotle of the former, and buffalo, honey mustard, and country gravy from the latter. Sides include mac and cheese with bacon, french fries, and jalapeno-cheddar cornbread. There are also cocktails, beers, and wine.
Presumably, its hours are the same as the East 6th restaurant: 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday, and then from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
Happy Chicks owner Doug Guller also owns Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill and Pelons Tex-Mex Restaurant
Funnily enough, the Nueces address had, at points, been home to general restaurant Nueces Kitchen and Bar and seafood spot Coast, from Lion’s Share Hospitality. That group just opened a new bar off West Sixth Street, Stereotype, today as well.
