— West Campus spot Hotel Ella is bringing back its upscale tailgating series for three Longhorn games out on the lawn. There’s a buffet from on-site restaurant Goodall’s Kitchen, along with cocktails, beer, and wine. The hotel’s also providing shuttles to and from the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for those actually attending the games. It will be held on Saturday, September 8; Saturday, September 15, and Saturday, October 13. Tickets are $55, and children 12 years old and younger can attend for free.

— Even though Aaron Franklin is a big fan of the city of Portland (he’s scheduled to cook at various events at food festival Feast this weekend), no, the pitmaster won’t open an Oregon restaurant.

— Master sommelier and McGuire Moorman Hospitality beverage director June Rodil is nominated for a Wine Star award from Wine Enthusiast in the sommelier/wine director of the year category.

— After Southwestern chain Z’Tejas, which was founded in Austin, filed for bankruptcy twice (2015, 2017), two of its investors, Randy Cohen and Michael Stone, bought four of the locations, including two in Austin, with plans to revamp the menu.
