— Of course, Democratic Texas Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke headed to the Whataburger drive-thru after the first debate with his opponent Ted Cruz on Friday in Dallas. He ordered the Whataburger with cheese but no tomatoes. While he and his staffers waited for their meals, the congressman air-drummed to the Who. He made other Whataburger stops over the weekend too, in Rio Grande City and Edinburgh.

— Six Austin-area breweries were awarded eight medals at this year’s Great American Beer Awards. ABGB received two gold medals for its American-style pilsner and Munich-style helles; Austin Beerworks got two bronze ones for Australian-style pale ale and light lager; a bronze for Circle Brewing Co.; gold for Pinthouse Pizza, silver for North by Northwest; and gold for Real Ale Brewing Co.

— Travel Channel is filming an episode of Food Paradise at Easy Tiger on Wednesday, September 26, and the beer garden and bakery is hosting an extended happy hour during the shoot from 5 to 8 p.m. The beer garden itself will be closed beforehand until 5 p.m., but the bakery will be open.
