— For 40 North’s next pizza collaboration, the West 10th Street pizzeria is teaming up with one of the country’s best new restaurants, Mexican spot Suerte, for a pizza collaboration. Chefs Fermín Núñez and Clint Elmore concocted the La Buena pie, which comes with mole amarillo, pickled carrots, kale, smoked scamorza, and nduja. There is also a queso fundido made with Granbury gold cheese, fontina, avocado, oregano, pickled onions, and chile Morita.

Everything will be available for the month starting on Monday, September 24. To kick off the collaboration, the pizzeria is hosting a party that day from 6 to 10 p.m. with both chefs, and a special pie with mole negro, eggplant, and confit peppers, which will only be available during the event. One dollar from each pizza sale throughout the month will go towards Grassroots Leadership.

— Vietnamese restaurant Hai Ky closed its Spicewood Springs location on 3808 Spicewood Springs location last month, after seven years of service. The South Austin restaurant on 1931 East Oltorf is still open.

— Austin Food & Wine Alliance is accepting culinary grant applications for people and groups interested in food looking to further their projects. The deadline is on Friday, October 12.
