Austin seafood restaurant Garbo’s is opening its next new restaurant up in the Domain. The second brick-and-mortar will be found within the Whole Foods Market at 11920 Domain Drive starting on Monday, September 24.
The menu will be similar to the original Wells Branch branch restaurant: New England fare with Austin touches. Yes, both Maine and Connecticut-style lobster rolls with be served, alongside oysters, spicy crab rolls, burgers with with grilled brisket and sirloin patties, and lobster Cobb salads.
The Domain Garbo’s will become part of Whole Foods’ beer bar the Draft Shack, which means beers and happy hour specials.
The new Garbo’s will be open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, and takeout orders will be available too (minus, ya know, oysters).
The seafood restaurant recently opened a permanent food truck in downtown Austin over the summer. Garbo opened the original food truck in 2013, and then the brick-and-mortar in 2014.
Whole Foods’ flagship location in downtown Austin is also shaking things up with the addition of vegan burger chain restaurant Next Level Burger, opening sometime this fall on North Lamar Boulevard.
