Cava, the popular Washington, D.C.-based Mediterranean fast-casual chain, is already opening its third Austin restaurant this week. The 515 Congress Avenue restaurant will open on Friday, August 10.
Like its other openings, the downtown Cava will offer free meals to the public and accept donations to nonprofit Urban Roots during that first day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again from 5 to 7 p.m.
The menu is the same as the other locations: build-your-own bowls, pitas, and salads. Items include falafel, braised lamb, hummus, eggplant, and more. For sides and sweets, there are dips, pita chips, cookies, and soups.
The downtown Cava’s hours will be from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
The first Austin Cava opened on Guadalupe in June, followed quickly by the Westlake one in July. There’s already a fourth restaurant slated for the Domain next spring.
The very first Cava opened in Rockville, Maryland by co-founders Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and executive chef Dimitri Moshovitis in 2011. That was followed by over 60 locations across the country.
