Beer shop WhichCraft is closing its 2110 South Lamar Boulevard store. The last day of the Zilker shop will be on Saturday, September 22. The Mueller shop and taproom, where customers can drink on the premises, will remain open.

Owner and founder Jody Reyes decided to close the original WhichCraft shop, which opened in 2014, because of several reasons, including high rent and customer parking challenges.

Another big reason for the shutter is the fact that Reyes wasn’t able to add draft beer to the lineup because of city zoning requirements. ”Having draft beer not only gives people more reasons to visit,” he further explained in a blog post, “but also offers more choices for our customers.”

Reyes is open to opening another WhichCraft, which would incorporate a taproom much like the Mueller one, too, which debuted in 2016.

To help get rid of WhichCraft’s South Lamar beer inventory, everything is ten percent through its closing date.
