Veracruz All Natural, home to Austin’s best migas taco from sisters Reyna and Maritza Vazquez, is opening a new truck in Mueller. It will be found at Mueller Trailer Eats at 4209 Airport Boulevard starting on Tuesday, September 4.
The menu will includes familiar dishes, like the migas tacos and fish tacos, as well as different ones from Veracruz’s brick-and-mortar menus and entirely new items. Look out for empanadas, matcha salsa, picadas, and more. The taco de calabacitas con queso comes with stewed zucchini, squash, onions, cilantro, tomato, corn, and queso fresco, along with casamiento, a mixture of rice and refried beans. It’s something that Reyna Vazquez often cooks at home.
This will be Veracruz’s third food truck and fifth overall location. Currently there are two trucks on East Cesar Chavez and Manchaca Road (part of Radio Coffee & Beer), and two brick-and-mortar restaurants, one in Round Rock and the other in North Shoal Creek.
Once open, Veracruz Mueller’s hours are from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and then from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
The Vazquezes opened their first Veracruz in 2008. The taco trailer is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a big party at its Radio Coffee location this month. On deck are tacos, music, free margaritas, and offerings from food truck friends like Churro Co., Hay Elotes, Paperboy, and La Michoacana paletas. It takes place on Sunday, August 26 from 6 p.m. to midnight.
