There’s a new bread bakery coming to South Austin with ThoroughBread. The bakery is set to open in the Zilker neighborhood on 1709 Bluebonnet Lane two block away from South Lamar Boulevard in September.
While details are scarce for the forthcoming bakery, Ryan Goebel is the owner and baker. The menu should include loaves of bread to-go, toasts with spreads and toppings, as well as baked goods and sweets like cookies and morning buns.
Gearing up for the fall opening, ThoroughBread has been previewing its carby goods through bread pop-ups, like the several recent pop-ups held at Spokesman with olive sourdough toasts topped with hummus and greek salad; avocados; ricotta and mixed berries. Another bread pop-up last year at Once Over Coffee featured toasts with toppings like butter, almond butter, jam, cinnamon crunch, and bananas.
While Chase Imbert helped Goebel with the bread pop-ups, he is not involved with ThoroughBread.
Nearby ThoroughBread is Confituras’ bakery and jam shop and Moonlight Bakery.
This article has been updated to reflect Chase Imbert’s role in ThoroughBread.
