Rather than a nice night out at a restaurant or cocktail lounge, many people celebrate the Fourth of July on Thursday with backyard barbecues and cheap drinks by a body of water. Thus, many restaurants and bars close for the day to take a much-needed vacation.
Looking to go out for America’s birthday? Lots of places are hosting celebrations or specials — it might even be the day to attempt the line at Franklin Barbecue or Loro, both of which will be open. However, here’s a list of the restaurants and bars that will be closed for the Fourth of July in Austin.
Everything below is listed in alphabetical order and this guide will be regularly updated through the holiday. Have another spot to add to the list? Let Eater know through the tipline.
