— Tito’s Handmade Vodka launched mobile chatbot to help people with drink recommendations and recipes through a partnership with Allrecipes. The Barkeep app will also include the ability to buy Tito’s through booze delivery app Drizly.
— Brentwood restaurant Barley Swine is offering a summer discount on its multi-course tasting menu. The typically $95 meal will be available for $65 on Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday before 6 p.m.
— West 10th pizzeria 40 North added weekend brunch to its lineup. The menu goes beyond just pizza with ricotta pancakes, beignets made with pizza dough, grits, and fingerling potatoes served with eggs and labneh. But, yes, there is a brunch pie with mashed potatoes, mozzarella, fontina, and eggs. It’s available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There’s also a new happy hour with $7 burgers and margherita pies, along with discounted drinks and half-off bottles of bubbles, from 3 to 6 p.m. daily.
— Lyft shared the top ten “watering holes” (its words) that Austinites like to visit in the summer between May to July. This includes sprawling outdoor bars and beer gardens (Banger’s at #1, Little Darlin’, Cosmic Coffee), and cocktail bars (Whisler’s, Kitty Cohen’s), and South Congress Hotel (there are outdoor patios at Central Standard, Cafe No Se, and Manana).
— For Peruvian Independence Day, Cherrywood restaurant Yuyo is serving off-the-menu food specials and cocktails. This includes the arroz chaufa, a fried rice dish with pork and shrimp, and the Lima Libre drink with mesquite-smoked pisco. It’s available through Sunday, July 29.
— Houndstooth Cafe’s boozy location on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard features new day-long happy hour with different specials every day. All cocktails are $8 on Mondays, only classic cocktails are $8 on Tuesdays, specialty ones are $8 on Wednesdays, along with half-off wine by the bottle, and there are $8 frozen margaritas on Thursdays.
