— Hopdoddy Burger Bar and Tiff’s Treats are expanding with first-ever locations in San Marcos. The two new Austin-based restaurants will be found at the Springtown Shopping Center at 1104 Thorpe Lane. Both are expected to open in 2019.
— Sunset Valley fancy doughnut shop Bougie’s Donuts is teaming up with Austin-based tequila company Playa Real Tequila for a set of boozy doughnuts. The fried cakes, which will be infused in tequila, include the cherry limeade doughnut, the pineapple upside-down cake doughnut, and the Mandarin orange cake doughnut. It’s only available tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24, from Bougie’s shop, where Playa will host a tequila tasting too.
— For Pluckers Wing Bar’s 23rd birthday, the Austin-based chicken wing chain is offering a bunch of food and drink specials this week from all locations starting on Monday, July 23. Each day will include a different deal, like 75-cent chicken wings and dollar Bud Lights today and Sunday, July 29, $4 fried chickens on Wednesday, July 25, and $4 mac and cheese on Friday, July 27.
— New-school barbecue truck LeRoy & Lewis is bringing back its spicy food challenge, where it will offer a different hot dish every day starting on Wednesday, July 25. This includes flamin’ hot Cheetos pie with five-alarm chili, tingling Sichuan beef ribs, and a collaboration with Tommy Want Wingy: the Holy Schnikes sausage. There will be popsicles ice cream to help too. Those who eat all five dishes through Sunday, July 29 will receive a $75 gift card.
— South Austin brewery ABGB is teaming up with the Ghisallo Cycling Initiative for the Christmas in July bike-builds, where it will build bikes for students, along with beer and pizza for the builders. It runs from Tuesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 29.
