Festive pop-up bar Miracle announced that it will return to Austin for the season. From the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 23 through New Year’s Eve on Monday, December 31, Miracle will take over The Roosevelt Room’s sister bar The Eleanor again, bringing boozy drinks and transforming the space into a winter wonderland on 307 West 5th Street in downtown.
This year’s drink menu was created by the pop-up’s manager Joann Spiegel and bartender Nico de Soto (who has worked at New York bar Mace and Paris bar Danico). It includes some favorites from last year with slight variations, like the Christmopolitan (with vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, rosemary, lime, and absinthe mist) and the Snowball Old Fashioned (which keeps spiced Demerara, wormwood Bitters, and orange zest, but butterscotch rye is replacing last year’s gingerbread bourbon). There are also new drinks like the Christmas Carol Barrel with rum and pumpkin pie. The full menu is below.
Miracle started New York City in 2014 as the brainchild of Greg Boehm and his mother, after they halted construction on his bar Mace to create a holiday-themed bar. Now in its fifth year, Miracle has expanded to over 80 bars globally. That number includes a separate tiki-themed concept, Sippin’ Santa, that has a drink menu from tiki expert Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. While Sippin’ Santa sadly will not be in Austin, those needing island vibes in December can find the pop-up at Lei Low Bar in Houston.
