Velvet Taco, the funky late night fast-casual taco mini-chain from Dallas, is opening its second Austin location. It’ll be found off South Congress Avenue on Music Lane, within the same development as the members-only Soho House. It’s set to open in 2019.

Velvet Taco’s new-school menu pulls inspiration from global flavors, like the spicy tikka chicken, Nashville hot tofu, and ahi poke tacos. It also serves brunch tacos all day long, made with frittatas. Other dishes include red curry coconut queso, red velvet cake, and the whole rotisserie chicken special (available by asking for it at the back door of the restaurant).

Velvet made its Austin debut up in Rock Rose in March 2017. There are restaurants in Dallas, Houston, and Chicago. This will be its tenth location.

The Music Lane development will be found between East Riverside Drive, Academy Drive, and Music Lane. It’s the block that used to house Doc’s Motorworks Bar & Grill, Sfranthor House of Wax, a gym, a hair salon, and a bunch of boutiques.
