Lucy’s Fried Chicken opened up its a new location in Cedar Park on 401 East Whitestone Boulevard. This is the fried chicken mini-chain’s fourth Austin-area location.
The poultry-focused menu remains mostly the same as the other three restaurants: fried chicken everywhere from machos to fried chicken livers to baskets. Then there are salads, burgers, steak, fresh and wood fire-grilled oysters, and plenty of pie slices and banana pudding. There’s a playscape too.
Chef and owner James Holmes turned his attention to this new Cedar Park Lucy’s after shuttering its comparatively more casual delivery and dining location Lucy’s on the Fly on South Lamar in April. It was the same address where he ran Olivia, the New American finer dining restaurant which was recognized as one of Bon Appetit’s best new restaurants in 2009), but closed 2016 after eight years of service. He held onto the South Lamar address for Lucy’s on the Fly, but let it go when he closed.
The first Lucy’s opened on South Congress in 2011, followed by the Burnet Road one in 2013, and the Lake Travis restaurant in 2015.
Lucy’s Fried Chicken’s Cedar Park hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday (with Sunday brunch served until 3 p.m.).
