Loro, the casual Asian smokehouse from chef Tyson Cole and pitmaster Aaron Franklin, is adding happy hour to its lineup beginning today, Monday, June 4 on 2115 South Lamar Boulevard. The happy hour food menu includes the restaurant’s only burger, a first for both Cole and Franklin.
The patty is a mixture of prime brisket and smoked bavette. It’s topped with red onion brisket jam, muenster cheese, jalapeno aioli, pickles, and butter lettuce on a brioche bun. It’s $8.
There are two other happy hour-only dishes: brisket tostadas on fried corn tortillas topped with shishito salsa verde for $7, salmon belly tartare on puffed tapioca rice crackers for $7. The chicken karaage will be available for $6.
For drinks, there are half-off boozy slushies (currently the mango sake one and the frozen gin and tonic), wines, tapped sake, and Kirin Ichiban Lager.
Loro’s happy hour will be available from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cole and Franklin opened Loro in early April with a focus on counter-service barbecue, smoked meats, and other dishes with Asian inflections.
