After much delay, Garbo’s Lobster Truck is finally opening its permanent downtown food truck next week. It will open for limited service starting on Tuesday, July 2 at 823 Congress Avenue, near West 9th Street.
The standard menu will feature those signature lobster rolls, naturally, served Maine- or Connecticut-style (the former with mayonnaise and celery, the latter with butter). The rest of the lineup includes a burger topped with white cheddar cheese and spicy mayonnaise, a spicy crab roll made with Maine crab, chopped bacon, and smoked gouda cheese, and the lobster Cobb salad with chilled lobster. Owner Heidi Garbo promises daily specials too.
Garbo’s downtown hours will begin for the lunch rush from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily and there are plans to expand with weekend hours later. Expect some sort of outdoor seating area on Congress Avenue.
Garbo’s truck joins Chi’lantro’s downtown food truck on Congress Avenue. Garbo opened the lobster truck in 2013, followed by the brick-and-mortar restaurant up in Wells Branch in 2014.
