This past weekend was the ATX Television Festival, a celebration of small screen series in downtown Austin. The television celebrities, showrunners, etc. had to eat, so they took to various Austin restaurants to fuel up. Here’s where they went:
— The cast of Felicity, which held its 20th reunion at the festival, opted for tacos from Torchy’s Tacos. Cast members, including Keri Russell, Scott Foley, and Scott Speedman, visited the South Congress flagship restaurant.
— Taylor Kitsch, who played everyone’s favorite high school football player Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights and most recently David Koresh in television miniseries Waco, hit up one of his go-to Austin spots for food: Jo’s Coffee on South Congress.
— Foley and Speedman, along with Stephen Colletti, the One Tree Hill actor in the forthcoming show Everyone Is Doing Great, went the healthy route by grabbing juices and vegan gelato bowls at Squeezery.
— Felicity’s Greg Grunberg also enjoyed barbecue from Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que in downtown Austin.
— Television writer and producer Marti Noxon (best known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, most recently known for upcoming HBO show Sharp Objects) followed Felicity’s cue and went to Torchy’s Tacos.
— Comedian Rhea Butcher, of television show Take My Wife, said that Arlo’s barbecue burger is the “best vegan sandwich I’ve ever had in all my 35 years of vegan sandwiches.”
— Comedian Pete Holmes had dinner with Somebody Feed Phil host Phil Rosenthal and High Maintenance’s Ben Sinclair with and Holmes’ driver Buzz at Kemuri Tatsu-ya.
— The cast of Condor, a television show about the CIA, dined at South Congress Tex-Mex restaurant Guero’s, including Kristen Hager, Katherine Cunningham, and Kristoffer Polaha.
— Southern-Asian fusion restaurant Peached Tortilla catered the television festival’s closing party, which featured a bunch of honey butter chicken biscuits and brisket breakfast tacos.
