Turntable Eatery, the neighborhood restaurant from the Barfly’s team, is now open. It stands in the former location of House Pizzeria at 5111 Airport Boulevard, in North Loop.
The focus of Turntable Eatery is on Neapolitan pizza (which is available gluten-free). Options range from the classic margherita to the Hearty Artichoke (pesto base, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and olives) to a meat-heavy pie with pepperoni, ham, meatballs, and sliced Italian sausage.
The menu also includes sandwiches on house-made sourdough bread (Italian, meatball, or vegetarian), four salads, and desserts (tiramisu, cheesecake, and a chocolate chip cookie). The restaurant also serves beer and wine. There’s a patio for outdoor seating and, of course, a jukebox full of musical selections.
Turntable Eatery is open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. Co-owner Albert Varela shared that brunch on Saturday and Sunday is coming “soon,” so these hours may change accordingly.
