Austin cookie-decorating legend Hayley Evans has opened the second location of her bakery, HayleyCakes and Cookies. The flagship bakery is located at 1700 South Lamar Boulevard, next to brunch chain Snooze.
The new space is four times larger than the original shop off 2222, allowing HayleyCakes to serve more people and fulfill more catering gigs. There are generally a lot of those, given the attention the shop has attracted through its Instagram account featuring intricate designs and hypnotic, precise cookie decorations.
The new location of HayleyCakes, which was announced last July, will serve the same menu of beautifully decorated cookies, brownies, brownie-cookie combinations, cupcakes, and cakes. There are also coffee and tea, and tables to linger in the space.
The original location opened as Rise and Shine Bakery around 2007. Evans took over in 2013, rebranding in 2014 to focus on catering and baked goods. The second location will have expanded hours from the original, open 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
