Torchy’s Tacos, the Austin-born taco chain, is opening its Dripping Springs restaurant on Tuesday, May 15. It will be found on 166 Hargraves Drive within Belterra Village.
Torchy’s will open for a public preview ahead of the opening date with free tacos on Monday, May 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. People who visit the restaurant on opening day will be entered into a raffle for a year’s worth of free tacos.
Expect the same menu and service as the other restaurants: counter-service breakfast, lunch and dinner tacos; queso. There will be a full bar serving up with margaritas (frozen and on the rocks), and other cocktails like its take on martinis.
The Belterra Village Torchy’s Tacos will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Torchy’s is opening its first downtown Austin location sometime before the end of the year in the Northshore apartment building. It shuttered its South First trailer last month too. Owner Michael Rypka opened the first trailer in 2006, and it quickly expanded with brick-and-mortar restaurants throughout Texas and now in Colorado and Oklahoma.
Belterra Village also includes the movie theater and beer garden Sky Cinemas (from the founders of Violet Crown Cinema), as well as the forthcoming restaurants like Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew’s new spot The Switch and the third location of League Kitchen and Tavern
