San Diego-based ice cream sandwich shop The Baked Bear is opening its first of two Texas locations in downtown Austin next month, as reported by Community Impact. The frozen sweets spot will be found at 211 Walter Seaholm Drive starting on Saturday, May 12.

The menu is simple: ice cream scoops are placed between two cookies, brownies, or doughnuts, along with toppings like candies, nuts, and sprinkles. Ice cream flavors range from vanilla and mint chip to strawberry cheesecake and salted caramel fudge. For cookies, there’s everything from chocolate chip and peanut butter to red velvet and M&Ms.

Austin owners Tito Mazur and Gino Chamarro enjoyed the San Diego location of Baked Bear and wanted to bring it to the city.

The first Baked Bear opened in San Diego in 2013. now with over 20 locations in California, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Oklahoma, with more to come in other states. While there are no additional Austin locations planned at this moment, further shops aren’t being ruled out. The second Texas Baked Bear is opening in El Paso.
