Rudy’s Country Store & Bar-B-Q is opening its first central Austin location on Thursday, April 19. The Rosedale barbecue restaurant will be found on 3918 North Lamar Boulevard in the former EZ’s Brick Oven and Grill building.
Similar to the other restaurants in the barbecue chain, smoked meats and sides will be served will be served by the weight, including brisket, ribs, turkey, and sausages, as well as potato salads, cream corn, and other sides. Then there are desserts and breakfast tacos
This is Rudy’s fifth Austin location. The first one opened in Leon Springs, Texas in 1989, followed by other restaurants throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Ken Schiller and Brian Nolen of K&N Management oversees all of the Austin-area locations of Rudy’s, starting with the Research Boulevard one in 1994 as well as Mighty Fine Burgers.
Its hours on North Lamar Boulevard and 40th Street are from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. For Rudy’s opening day on April 19 the restaurant will give out $20 gift cards to the first 100 people at the restaurant.
