Lucy’s on the Fly, the even-more casual outpost of fried chicken restaurant mini-chain Lucy’s Fried Chicken with an emphasis on delivery, is closing on 2043 South Lamar, as reported by Austin 360. Its last day of service will be on Sunday, April 15.

To make up for the South Lamar shutter, Lucy’s owner and chef James Holmes will open another branch of Lucy’s Fried Chicken up in Cedar Park. Similar to the South Congress, Burnet, and Lake Travis restaurants, it will be found on 401 East Whitestone Boulevard starting in June.

Before Lucy’s on the Fly took over the South Lamar building, it used to be home to his first restaurant dedicated to New American finer dining, Olivia. That opened in 2008 but closed in October 2016 for the fried chicken transformation that same month.

Holmes opened the first Lucy’s Fried Chicken on South Congress in 2011, then the Burnet one in 2013, followed by the Lake Travis restaurant in 2015.
