The Blackheart, the whiskey and music bar in the midst of Rainey Street, is closing. Chronicle reports that its last day will happen sometime during the end of April when its lease is up, as confirmed by the bar’s Facebook page.

Co-owner Jeremy Murray had been working on renewing the lease, to no avail. A new group, Goodmates LLC, will take over the space, as the Chronicle reported, though details aren’t known about that yet. Chronicle revealed that it involves people who own another Rainey Street bar Lucille Patio Lounge.

During Blackheart’s waning days, the bar will host a party from Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29.

Blackheart was operated under 1886 Management, which also includes East Austin bar Kitty Cohen’s and Dripping Springs bar and restaurant Proof and Cooper. Blackheart opened in March 2012.

Other future Rainey Street changes include Wright Bros. Brew & Brew’s cafe and bar Little Brother, Israeli-born slider chain Burgerim, FBR Management staffers’ transformation of former restaurant No Va into bar Stagger Lee, and American-Asian restaurant and bar Anthem.
