Austin booze expert Brian Floyd is the newest member of forthcoming anticipated downtown spot The Line ATX Hotel on 111 East Cesar Chavez Street. He’ll become the beverage director, where he’ll overlook the hotel’s entire drinks program, from the restaurants to room service to catering.
Floyd’s bar history includes opening Chris Bostick’s Rainey Street bar Half Step, managing the bar of East Side spot Weather Up, and mixing drinks at Qui. He also oversaw the drinks at Luck Reunion, Willie Nelson’s annual music festival that just took place last night. He was also involved with booze delivery service Sourced Craft Cocktails (he is no longer a part of the company).
Aside from mixing drinks, Floyd is also the founder of organization the Barman’s Fund, which looks to get people in the service industry involved with community efforts through donations and events.
The Line ATX Hotel’s three future restaurant options include Top Chef winning chef Kristen Kish’s Arlo Grey, the hotel’s executive chef Justin Ermini’s Bridge & Trail, and former Counter 3.Five.VII chef Damien Brockway’s rooftop restaurant P6. The hotel is pegged to open sometime in late spring.
