The team behind Barfly’s is opening a new neighborhood restaurant with Turntable Eatery. It’s taking over shuttered House Pizzeria’s former digs in North Loop at 5111 Airport Boulevard.

Turntable Eatery will be owned by Marcos Canchola, who also partially owns operate Violet Crown Social Club, Barfly’s, Mugshots, Hideout Pub, Bender Bar, and Pour House Pints and Pies, along with Albert Varela and Lucas Navarro, both of whom were longtime Barfly’s employees. Varela told Eater, “We have been friends personally and professionally for a very long time and all really enjoy working in this industry. It has always been a dream of ours to open a new restaurant together.”

The new place will serve pizza, sandwiches, desserts, and “a few other goodies.” Beer and wine will also be available. Varela says to expect “a welcoming old school eclectic vibe with a vintage 45 record jukebox player and, of course, a turntable.” Varela expects to open in a few weeks.

North Loop’s pizza options will also includes an expansion of Home Slice, though it still doesn’t have an opening date. House Pizzeria shuttered in September.
