Austin’s hotel boom continues with the Austin Marriott Downtown, which is bringing four bars and a restaurant to the corner of Cesar Chavez and San Jacinto. There’s a bit of a wait, though, as the hotel only broke ground last month. It’s on track to open in summer of 2020.
The forthcoming hotel’s restaurant is billed as a corner spot with Texas-inspired fare that will include an indoor/outdoor bar as well. Other bars include a lobby lounge and a pool bar on the roof, which will be open to the public. The pool area will have amenities like fire pits, cabanas, and televisions.
The Austin Marriott Downtown is operated by White Lodging, which also runs the nearby JW Marriott on Second Street. It’s one of many hotels coming to Austin, including The Line downtown, which just announced Top Chef winner Kristen Kish as chef of one of three in-house restaurants, and a couple of projects in South Austin (The Guesthouse Hotel and The Carpenter Hotel).
