Jugo, the downtown juice shop from chef Shawn Cirkiel, is expanding into Rosedale. Specifically, it’s opening up within the mixed-use development at 4200 North Lamar Boulevard, joining neighbors Japanese restaurant Uchiko, coffee shop Houndstooth, and Tacodeli. It’s expected to open sometime in the spring or summer 2018.

Much like its downtown counterpart, the second Jugo will serve up juices and smoothies in counter-service style. As for food, the menu veered on the healthy side with items like hummus, bowls with grains, noodles, and legumes, fish, chicken, vegetables, and bone broth. The menu is designed by Cirkiel and culinary director Justin Rupp.

Everything will be available to-go, but there should be some dine-in seating. It’s safe to assume that the space will be designed by architect Michael Hsu as well.

Downtown Jugo opened in March 2017. It’s part of Cirkiel’s Parkside Projects restaurant group. This also includes Parkside, Backspace, Bullfight, Olive and June, and event spaces 800 Congress and 7co.
